BG William F. McCollough, VSM, Commandant and Vice President for Student Affairs, Norwich Class of 1991, has announced that Cadet First Sergeant Matthew S. Ober '26 will serve as the Regimental Commander for the academic year 2025-26. This position is the highest rank among cadets in the Corps.
During its winter board meeting on February 2, 2025, Norwich University’s Board of Trustees unanimously elected Mr. Alfred J. “Al” Gobeille ’86 as the next Chair of the Board of Trustees. He will succeed the incumbent Chair, Mr. Alan DeForest ’75, who has served in the role for the past nine years, at the conclusion of his tenure in April.
C/CSM Thoren Berg ’25 has been selected by the Association of Military Colleges & Schools of the United States (AMCSUS) as the recipient of the Leadership Award and a $1,000 scholarship. A combination of his character and service alongside his academic and athletic performances led to this honor.
Thanks to the generous $2,000,000 continuing grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Norwich will help to remove the financial barriers often limiting academic opportunities for highly qualified undergraduates interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
While on campus, he was honored by conducting a ceremonial puck drop during the men’s hockey intrastate rivalry game between the Norwich University Cadets and visiting Vermont State University – Castleton Spartans.
