AI for the Greater Good: Vermont Sen. Peter Welch, Norwich University, and NUARI, Partner on Humanitarian Disaster Response Initiative

On November 16, 2024, the Norwich University AI Center, in collaboration with Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI), hosted a unique one-day event focused on "AI and Humanitarian Disaster Response" for high school students and new Norwich students hoping to learn about AI, all inspired by a challenge from Vermont Senator Peter Welch.

Four senior engineering students design and build an enhanced prototype joystick for client with cerebral palsy.

During the 2023-24 academic year, four senior Norwich University engineering students combined their skills to build a prototype joystick for a client with cerebral palsy. Mechanical Engineering majors Tanner Buckelew, Helena Robinson, and Sebastian Mowbray teamed up with Interdisciplinary Engineering major Andrew Wade for this successful project.

Norwich University’s engineering programs earn six-year accreditation

NORTHFIELD, Vt. — Norwich University has earned its six-year accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) for three bachelor of science programs in the David Crawford School of Engineering: civil engineering, electrical and computer engineering and mechanical engineering.
