Norwich Cadet Gabriel Gaetz wins at the 2021 OCR World Championship

Norwich University’s Cadet Gabriel Gaetz, class of 2023, spent this past weekend competing against over 400 athletes from around the world at the 2022 Obstacle Course Racing World (OCR) Championship in Stratton, Vermont. Gaetz finished 3rd in his age group (18-24) and 36th overall with a time of 2:08:43.

Norwich University dedicated the Senator Patrick Leahy School of Cybersecurity and Advanced Computing today during the “U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy Cyber Symposium.” Formerly the School of Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Computing, the new name reflects Leahy’s longstanding support of cybersecurity education at Norwich University and in the state of Vermont.

But the center’s director, Meghan Oliver, wants first-year students, who may not yet have visited, to know it’s never too early to tap resources and plan careers.

Norwich University names Dr. Karen Gaines provost and faculty dean

NORTHFIELD, Vt. — Norwich University has named Dr. Karen Gaines, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University who also holds an academic appointment as professor of physiology, as provost and dean of the faculty, beginning at the end of the spring 2022 semester.

Norwich University’s U.S. Army ROTC program to receive Defense Department award

NORTHFIELD, Vt. — In April, Norwich’s U.S. Army ROTC received the 2020 Gen. Douglas MacArthur Award for the Cadet Command’s 1st Brigade. In July, Norwich’s U.S. Army ROTC Pioneer Battalion received the Defense Department ROTC and Educational Institution Partnership Excellence Award. The Excellence Award recognizes exceptional performance in the 2019-20 academic year and standing out among the 496 U.S. colleges and universities that host ROTC units.

Norwich University receives $18.5 million grant to continue leading Defense Department Cyber Institute program
