Senior Executive Team

The primary purpose of the Senior Executive Team is to assist the President, as the Chief Executive Officer, in identifying and addressing strategic issues facing Norwich. This team participates freely and openly to challenge each other and to develop together ideas and decisions that will yield the best results for Norwich’s future.

Provost and Dean of Faculty Dr. Karen Gaines oversees all academic programs, library services and registrar operations.

Commandant & Vice President of Student Affairs William McCollough ’91 serves as the Vice President of Student Affairs and Commandant of Cadets. A retired U.S. Marine Corps colonel, McCollough is Norwich University’s 56th Commandant and the first to serve as vice president of student affairs.

Interim Chief Financial Officer LeRoy Young oversees the university’s financial issues, human resources and public safety.

Vice President, Development and Alumni Relations Brian Doyle ’94 oversees development and alumni relations.

Special Advisor to the President Dave Whaley ’76.

Vice President, Strategic Partnerships Sharon R. Hamilton, Ph.D., oversees strategic partnerships for the University.

Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Dr. Julia Bernard oversees the development, implementation and monitoring of programs that promote diversity within the University in compliance with University policies and federal and state regulations.

Vice President of Enrollment Management Kimberly Reilly is responsible for identifying, recruiting and retaining the Corps of Cadets and traditional undergraduate students.

Interim Vice President, Marketing and Communications Sarah Stefaniuk oversees Norwich University's marketing and communications office, including all strategic brand development initiatives.

Vice President, Facilities Operations & Conference Services Bizhan Yahyazadeh ’80 oversees the university’s facilities operations and construction services.

Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer George Silowash M’07 leads and manages the Information Technology Services Office (ITS).

Director of Human Resources Nicole Rocheleau directs the Human Resources Department, to include talent acquisition, benefits, compensation, payroll, employee relations, performance management and professional development for staff, faculty, international employees and work-study students.

Director of Athletics Ed Hockenbury leads the Athletics Department, which builds and maintains an athletic program that competes in conference and NCAA Division play.

Executive Assistant to the President Laura Amell ’89 oversees administration of the president’s and Chief of Staff’s offices.

Corporate Secretary and Secretary to the Board of Trustees Jamie Comolli is the liaison between the Board of Trustees and the president’s office.
