About
Huw Read began his academic career in 2004 at the University of South Wales (United Kingdom) and has taught a number of specialist courses in digital forensics and cybersecurity. For more than 10 years, he has worked alongside industry and government on a number of cyber-related projects, partnering with diverse teams to design solutions to complex security problems.
He is actively engaged in academic research and scholarship within the field, his work has been published in several peer-reviewed conferences and journals. Several publications have been jointly authored with undergraduate students, helping to better arm them for future cyber-related challenges.
He joined the Norwich faculty in 2015. Since taking the post, he has led a team of Norwich students working on cybersecurity at Super Bowl 50 and received NSA/NSF grant funding to run two successive GenCyber summer camps for high school students from across the United States. Read also led a successful recertification process, which recognized Norwich as one of the country's few National Security Agency-recognized Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education and a Defense Department-recognized Center of Digital Forensic Academic Excellence.
He holds a B.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Glamorgan.
