LTC Brian J. Doyle, USA (Ret.) ’94 will be the next Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR)

From the office of Norwich University President LtGen John J. Broadmeadow, USMC (Ret) NU’83:

Following a very competitive selection process, LTC Brian J. Doyle, USA (Ret.) ’94 will be the next Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR).   Brian brings with him 23 years of service as an officer in the United States Army, almost a decade of experience in higher education, and seven years’ experience in corporate America.

In the Army, Brian served in a succession of leadership, planning and education positions. A Cavalry Officer, he deployed to Afghanistan twice and Iraq once in support of the Global War on Terrorism. In higher education, he taught Geography as a member of the faculty of the United States Military Academy at West Point and served as the Professor of Military Science at Tulane University. After retiring from the Army, he went to work for General Motors. Rapidly promoted within that organization, Brian quickly grasped the corporate culture and drove winning results for the sales and marketing organization driving record high profits through a pandemic and the resulting supply train crisis.  Through his transition from the military to the civilian world he has a unique perspective on the variety of situations experienced by our Alumni.

Brian has also been extremely active as a volunteer in the non-profit space.  He is the President of the board of directors for the non-profit Falmouth Harbor Sailing School where he has spearheaded a campaign to hire staff and update equipment. He also served as the founder and race director for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation event in Newport Rhode Island, raising money to support building homes for critically injured service members and first responders. Brian has served Norwich for over twenty years as a Class Agent and is a lifetime member of the Partridge Society.

I am confident that he possesses the skills, judgement, and character to lead the Development team. Brian brings a combination of military, educational, and business acumen that will help him to succeed.  I ask that you welcome and support him.
