Would you like to connect with other members of the Norwich family who live in your area to learn more about the Norwich experience?
Join the NU Club of Michigan for our Alumni Picnic & Student Sendoff for what will be the first of an annual summer event! Local alumni, students, and families will be on hand to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the MI Coast Guard and welcome incoming students and their families to the Norwich community. This event is well worth the drive, or feel free to join us virtually!
Date: Saturday, July 27, 2024
Time: This is an all day event, so please feel free to arrive any time after 10:00 a.m.
Location: The home of Pat Harmon '71, 10894 Garlfield Street, Coopersville, MI 49404
Cost: $10.00, current students as well as incoming students and families attend free of charge. If you would like to swim, please bring a swimsuit and towel for the pool.
Additional Details: We will have a full menu of food and activities for all to enjoy including:
Menu to Include:
- Pig roast
- Hot dogs
- Sweet corn, potatoes, and fresh vegetables (grown locally)
- Stone fruts and melons
- Potato Salad
- Maroon and Gold
Activities:
- Pontoon boat on Grand River, to Coast Guard (CG) Festival area*
- Lawn games including cornhole, horseshoes, and croquet, frisbee, and eggs on spoons relay race
- Outdoor activities including fishing (poles provided or bring your own - use pond with no license or get a license for the river), trail walks, kite flying (bring yours too)
- Evening bonfire
*Please: Bring life vests, lawn chairs, and NU ID laynyard if you have them and your own kayaks or canoes if you want to use them.
Registration: Advanced registration is greatly appreciated for planning purposes.

This event is free for incoming students. All other guests are $25 per person. Children 16 and under attend free.
