Nursing Department — Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professors
Description:
The Nursing Department of Norwich University is seeking applicants for tenure track faculty positions at the assistant/associate/full professor level beginning with the fall term, August 2010. Specializations include maternal/child health, mental health, community/public health and adult health. Successful candidates will teach undergraduate courses, direct clinical teaching, and participate in research or scholarly activity in pedagogy or the area of clinical specialization. Additional responsibilities include advising students, integrating simulation laboratory learning into the classroom, and university service.
Norwich University is an undergraduate- and teaching-focused private university in located in central Vermont. Norwich enrolls more than 3,300 students in undergraduate and graduate programs, with approximately 1,150 in a Corps of Cadets, 800 traditional undergraduate students, and more than 1,400 online graduate students. The nursing student body is 80 percent traditional with some ROTC, and older commuter students.

Requirements:
A master’s degree in a clinical area of nursing and specialty clinical nursing skills are required. An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field is desired. The intention to enroll in doctoral education is required for all applicants seeking a tenure-line position not already possessing a doctorate. Baccalaureate teaching experience in nursing, five years of clinical practice and evidence of scholarly activity are preferred. Familiarity with various learning styles and ability to adjust teaching to accommodate various learning styles will be viewed as a definite plus. Candidates must have U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status. All Candidates must be eligible for RN licensure in Vermont. Employer will assist with relocation costs.
