Traditional Students
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
~ Margaret Mead
Traditional students at Norwich learn to lead one step at a time. In your first year, you'll discover what makes a leader through specially-designed classes and projects. You'll then begin taking on challenging leadership roles in which you set an example for others to follow.
You'll have opportunities through more than 80 clubs and organizations, community service, 18 varsity sports and numerous intramurals and student life activities. Norwich students are especially known for the amount of time they devote to community service projects both near and far.
Here are some ways you can learn to lead at Norwich:
Student Senate
Represent the traditional student community, voice students' concerns with administration and promote positive change on campus.
Norwich University Volunteer Organization (NUVO)
Volunteer your time and talents to various projects including blood and clothing drives, hunger banquets for the homeless, AIDS walks, and youth mentoring programs.
NU Visions
Tutor inner-city youth, serve in soup kitchens, build homes for the poor or work at a shelter for battered women and children during semester breaks and weekends.
Make a Difference Day
Help change the world during this day set aside in October for service activities, including collecting food and clothing, working at the Youth Center and visiting elderly residents.
Student activities
Organize and spearhead various on and off campus events including first-run movies, professional comedians, Winter Carnival and trips to Montreal and Boston.
