Thursday, Aug. 27 - Academic Day

8–11:30 a.m. Academic Orientation and Advising

Follow the instructions in your registration packet (that you received on Wednesday, Aug. 20) for the location of your major or department. Start your academic career with a divisional meeting and then academic advising.

11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Lunch with your Academic Advisor

Wise Campus Center Dining Hall

Have lunch with your advisor and other students in your major.

1–2 p.m. Academic Advising and Enrollment continued (if needed)

1:30–3 p.m. Information Fair, Lobby of Science Complex/Wise Campus Center

The Information Fair will be held in the lobby of Science Complex/outside Partridge. This is an opportunity to learn more about the services available to you, find a work-study position and sign up for door prizes.

3–4:30 p.m. Orientation Information Session, Location TBA

7:30–9 p.m. Playfair, Plumley Armory

Get Into the Volunteer Experience! Join your fellow classmates in giving back to the Northfield community. Attire should be items you won’t mind getting dirty and sturdy footwear. Lunch and refreshments will be served.

Upper Parade Ground

This session is mandatory. Business attire required. Please arrive promptly at 1:15 p.m. for seating. The ceremony and parade last one hour.

The NU Class of 2013, both prospective cadets and new traditional civilian students, will assemble on the Upper Parade Ground to pledge their willingness to accept and apply the Honor Code, abide by the Norwich Rules and Regulations, foster the Norwich spirit and uphold the traditions of the University.

Parents, family, friends, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend. Prospective cadets will not be able to speak with their parents, family or friends before, during or after the ceremony. However, traditional students can meet with their parents, family, and friends as their schedules allow.
