Norwich University is pleased to offer an interest-free Installment Payment Plan to help students and parents make their education affordable. The plan permits for payment of tuition, fees, room and board in monthly installments over the course of the semester instead of one lump sum prior to the start of the semester. The annual budget amount is determined by calculating the total direct costs of the student's full academic year, subtracting any scholarships or other funds that will contribute to college costs, and arriving at the amount the family will be expected to pay.

A non-refundable administrative fee must accompany the application before processing can begin. This is a graduated fee based on the time of application. If you begin in June, the fee for the plan is $70.

Payments are due on the fifteenth of each month. The first installment for the fall semester will be due on June 15, and you will be billed for each additional payment.

How do I enroll in the payment plan?

First, determine your annual budget (use the worksheet and application). It is as simple as 1-2-3!

  1. Determine your total annual expenses using the cost figures provided.
  2. Enter your financial aid, student loans, scholarships, and other funds that will be applied to your account. Refer to your financial aid award letter for credit information.
  3. Subtract the total credits from the total of the charges to arrive at your annual budget figure. Divide this number by 10 to determine your monthly payment amount.

Next, complete the application and return it by June 15. You can complete the application at www.ecsi.net/norwich. Include with your application your first monthly payment and the non-refundable administrative fee of $70, payable to Norwich University, and send it to:

Norwich University
C/O Educational Computer Systems Inc.
181 Montour Run Road
Coraopolis, PA 15108

Upon receipt of your application, fee of $70, and first payment, we will establish your account, and you will be billed on the first of every month of your remaining payments. Payments will be due by the 15th of each month.

What about a late enrollment?

If you wish to take full advantage of this monthly payment plan, we urge you to make application by June 15; however, enrollment at a later date is permissible. Late enrollment in the plan is accomplished by dividing line 3 on your worksheet and application by the appropriate number of payments remaining as shown on the table below:

Enrollment Date Number of Payments Administrative Fee
June 15 10 $70
July 15 9 $80
August 15 8 $90

Return your application, your first payment, and the appropriate administrative fee to Educational Computer Systems, Inc.

How do I make budget adjustments?

If your financial circumstances change after you enroll in the plan, you may adjust your annual budget figure simply by calling ECSI at 866.927.1438 or emailing ecsi-tpp@ecsi.net.

Here is how it all comes together…

Please use the worksheet and application. The worksheet uses annual figures. Charges are billed by the Office of the Bursar, and credits are disbursed by the Student Financial Planning Office on a semester basis.

The fall semester e-bill notification is generated in early July. Payment is due by Aug. 3, 2009. Please pay particular attention to the fall billing, as it also contains important insurance information. Visit the Fees and Financial Policy page for detailed information. The spring semester e-bill is generated in early November. Payment is due Dec. 7, 2009.

EVERYONE must respond by completing and returning the remittance form. The remittance form response tells us your financial plan, shows how you intend to pay for each semester, and includes your payment plan information. Please use the worksheet and application to set up your interest-free payment plan.
