Interlibrary Loan (ILL) refers to the borrowing and lending of materials between libraries. The ILL service allows Norwich University students, faculty and staff to request materials that are not available in the Kreitzberg Library or through our online resources. Distance learning students and faculty in the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) may use ILL to request print materials in the Kreitzberg Library collection.
Instructions
- You will need your Norwich ID number (A00XXXXXX) to place a request.
- Before requesting an item on interlibrary loan, you must check to see if the library already has the item. To see if the library has the book you need, search the library catalog. To see if the library has a journal article, search Periodicals A-to-Z by entering the journal title (this will tell you if the library has the title and the date range of our holdings). If the library owns the item, the request will not be filled.
- Requests can be submitted online for articles or books through our electronic forms (above). In WorldCat, you may use the ILL link to submit your request. Paper ILL request forms are also available in the library at the reference desk and ILL office.
- A separate form (either electronic or paper) must be submitted for each item requested.
- Please fill out the form completely. Incomplete information could delay the process. If you require any accommodations in filling out the ILL form, please contact Deborah Ahlers (contact information below)
- .Articles do not need to be returned. Return ILL books to the circulation desk. SGS students and faculty may use the return mailing label and are responsible for return postage and costs incurred from books being lost in the mail.
