Northfield video store moves into former hosiery building

former Cabot Hosiery plantAfter many years of operating in cramped retail space, a Northfield video store has moved to the former Cabot Hosiery plant on Main Street with plans to expand the building to electronics sales, according to the owner.

"I buy and sell CDs, DVDs, games and electronics," said Charles Harper, owner of Videos 'N More. "You never know what's going to be here next."

The "cross over" from VHS to DVD was a big factor in the move to the larger facility, Harper said. new video store interior

"We didn't want to get rid of just VHS and carry DVD or vice-versa," Harper said. "Every week we buy more and more movies, and new releases every week come out."

The old building that they moved out of was approximately 2,000 square feet, whereas the new building is approximately 7,800 square feet, Harper explained.

Harper said the parking situation has improved for his customers as well as the expanded internal space "You can park from the red light all the way down."

With the re-opening of the new building, Harper is planning a "grand reopening" as soon as all the construction is finished, with a DVD player as the Grand Prize."
